understanding complex and beautiful animals
Ever since I read Ernest Thompson Seton’s ‘Lobo’ as a little girl, wolves have had special place in my heart.
Wolves are social animals, dedicated to their community. They have clear ranks in their pack. They share responsibilities. They control their own population.
Wolves are ancestors of all domestic dogs.
Wolves once had been adored and idolised until humans started farming. They were then demonised, wrongly accused of crimes they didn’t commit.
Wolves had been slaughtered to the brink of extinction. However as our knowledge of wolves increased, wolf conservation has grown to be a concern. Since 1960’s wolf conservation programmes were set up in number of countries.
‘Society Animals’ and ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ come from these facts among other things.
